Despite it's name Iceland has a surprising diversity and quantity of plant life. Iceland's plant life is very robust, supporting grazing animals throughout the country such as sheep, cows and horses. The plants in Iceland do however have to deal with harsh weather conditions, with peak summer temperatures only reaching the upper 60's F.This article is far from a comprehensive guide on Icelandic plants but will instead showcase some of the more common and notable plant species of Iceland.
